Abstract Iron plaque is a Fe-containing oxide film produced by the oxidation of Fe(II) in rice root system under combined action oxygen infiltration and other microorganisms. Owing to its special surface structure physio-chemical properties, iron has strong absorption capacity for variety heavy metal ions. This study aimed first investigate effects Fe species on geochemical fractionation Tl typical paddy soil systems affected industrial activities, followed pot culture experiments probe uptake translocation plants.
